I am a native Finn with a Master’s degree in English translation studies from the University of Tampere, Finland.

My career as a professional translator began in 1994 in Finland and consists of both in-house and freelance experience. In 1996, I moved to New York City to work as an in-house Finnish translator at Eriksen Translations Inc. in Brooklyn. In 2000, I was hired as an in-house Finnish translator and project coordinator by J.D. Edwards, a multinational ERP company based in Denver, CO. I established Core Connection Translations after returning to Finland in the fall of 2007.

Working for translation companies and as an entrepreneur has allowed me to gain experience in several areas of specialization. Over the years, my varied hobbies and interests have also provided me with in-depth knowledge of subject matters ranging from animal care to animal welfare, horses and riding, various alternative healing methods, martial arts and fitness, in both Finnish and English.
